Publishing Ethics

CogNexus is committed to maintaining the highest standards of publishing ethics. Our editorial team, authors, and reviewers are expected to adhere to the following guidelines:

Editorial Responsibilities

1. Editorial Independence: The editorial team shall maintain editorial independence and make decisions based on the quality and relevance of the manuscript.
2. Confidentiality: The editorial team shall maintain the confidentiality of manuscripts and the peer review process.
3. Conflict of Interest: The editorial team shall disclose any potential conflicts of interest and recuse themselves from the decision-making process.

Author Responsibilities

1. Originality: Authors shall ensure that their manuscripts are original and do not contain plagiarized content.
2. Accuracy: Authors shall ensure that their manuscripts are accurate and reliable.
3. Conflicts of Interest: Authors shall disclose any potential conflicts of interest.
4. Authorship: Authors shall ensure that all contributors are listed as authors.

Reviewer Responsibilities

1. Confidentiality: Reviewers shall maintain the confidentiality of manuscripts and the peer review process.
2. Objectivity: Reviewers shall provide objective and unbiased feedback.
3. Conflict of Interest: Reviewers shall disclose any potential conflicts of interest and recuse themselves from the review process.

Plagiarism and Duplicate Publication

1. Plagiarism Detection: CogNexus uses plagiarism detection software to identify instances of plagiarism.
2. Duplicate Publication: Authors shall not submit manuscripts that have been previously published or are under consideration for publication elsewhere.

Retraction and Correction

1. Retraction: CogNexus reserves the right to retract manuscripts that contain serious errors, inaccuracies, or unethical behavior.
2. Correction: CogNexus will correct errors or inaccuracies in published manuscripts.

Complaints and Appeals

1. Complaints: Authors, reviewers, or readers may submit complaints regarding the publication process or content.
2. Appeals: Authors may appeal editorial decisions regarding manuscript acceptance or rejection.

Sanctions

1. Plagiarism: Authors found guilty of plagiarism will be banned from publishing in CogNexus for a period of 5 years.
2. Duplicate Publication: Authors found guilty of duplicate publication will be banned from publishing in CogNexus for a period of 3 years.

Disclaimer

CogNexus disclaims any liability for damages arising from the publication of manuscripts, including but not limited to errors, omissions, or inaccuracies.
